Ask Me Anything for Engaged Couples is Free for 24 hours

AMAFC 2.0 release Date.001Ask Me Anything for Couples version 2.0 will be available on Monday December 15, one week from Today.

Ask Me Anything for Couples was the first app I ever designed. I built it to help couples learn to communicate.

Ask Me Anything for Couples 2.0 is the biggest update I have ever done on an app. It was designed from the ground up to be a Universal app which means that it works on iPhones and iPads. It also works on the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. It now includes 650 relationship questions.

In my work I do a lot of reading and when I come across words or phrases that I think would pertain to a particular app I make a note. Any reading I do that pertains to couples or relationships adds to my research and my raw material as I build onto these apps. I have worked with many couples over the years in premarital counselling and I have often used these same questions in our sessions.

In celebration of the release of Ask Me Anything for Couples 2.0 I have made Ask Me Anything for Engaged Couples available for free for the next 24 hours. I wanted my friends, users and followers to be the first to know so I am throwing this announcement up on my website and social networks.

p.s. This sale is only for 24 hours so don’t delay. If you enjoy Ask Me Anything for Engaged Couples please leave me a 5 star Review.

Ask Me Anything for Couples 2.0 has been submitted to the App Store for Review

AMAFC submitted for Review.001

Ask Me Anything for Couples 2.0 is now waiting for Review on the App Store and if it is approved it will be released by December. It is a fully Universal app which was designed from the ground up to be beautiful on all iPhones and iPads.

This is my original app, the first app I ever built. It has gone through a lot of great changes since it was first available on the app store in December of 2011. I hope that Apple will quickly approve this new update so that I can make it available to use as soon as possible.

Have a great day and thanks for the downloads.

An answer from the developer…

questions.001

Do you ever pick up hitch hikers and what type of people would you pick up?

I have not regularly picked up hitch hikers although I do see them on occasion when using Anthony Henday or more often Stony Plain Road.
I often don’t because of a number of factors, usually I am turning soon so I am not travelling in their direction. Often I just don’t want to pick up hitchhikers. Often they seem dangerous or scary to me to pick up with my kids in the car.
I have, though, picked up some. One day my boys and I were driving to school and we drove past a dad and his son who were walking to school. That’s not unusual, but this particular day it was very cold, snow on the ground, temperatures hovering around the -30s. Not walking weather.
I dropped my boys off and drove back to pick them up. They were very grateful and I felt proud to have taken the time.
Another time I was driving down Winterburn road to drop my boys off at school and saw a guy stumbling down the road. Not drunken stumbling, just that this road, at the time had no sidewalks and was under construction so it was not the easiest road to walk upon.
He looked cold, and either sad or annoyed. As I drove past, my heart went out to him. He had no baggage, nothing that seemed to indicate where he was and he was dressed like a normal working dad. Like me.
So, once I dropped the boys off I drove back down the road to pick him up. It turns out he was coming to Edmonton for a business meeting. His meeting was supposed to be at the River Cree Casino which was just down Winterburn road, problem is, his cab driver dropped him at Stony Plain Road, not Whitemud Drive. He literally had been walking for 20 minutes because his iPhone showed him where the casino was and he thought it was just a block away…
People need to learn how to zoom the maps app.
Anyways, I picked him up and drove him the rest of the way to the casino. He did offer to pay but that’s ridiculous. I wanted to help. I didn’t need his money.
I think my rule with hitchhikers is no, unless the weather or the circumstances seem to warrant some extra grace.
How about you? Do you pick up hitchhikers?

Ask Me Anything for Couples is Finished the Design Phase

AMAFC finished design phase.001

One of the best things about being an iOS user is that Apple is continually updating their operating system and also building new technologies. It’s exciting to see what they are building and coming up with.

One of the worst things about being an iOS apps designer is that Apple is continually updating their operating system and also building new technologies. This summer in the midst of trying to update my apps I ran into a snag where I realized that I was not designing my apps to be compatible with the “new phones” that were being announced in September. Furthermore, apple came out with a great new version of Xcode and a new programming language. All of these new changes forced me to go back to the drawing board again.

So… this isn’t a product announcement, nor is it an update release, it’s simply a reassurance to my users that I am actually working on my apps again and Ask Me Anything for Couples will be updated soon.

Thanks for using Ask Me Anything Apps.

Have a great day.

Ask Me Anything for Zombies?

AskMeZombies.001

According to my iTunes Connect stats over 28,000 of you have copies of Ask Me Anything for Teens. I thought it was about time that I let you in on a little secret. In February of 2012 I uploaded an app to the app store that I wrote with some of my friends called Ask Me Anything for Criminals.  It AMA FCrimiTunesIconwas kind of a spoof and we were planning to release it for April Fool’s Day but of course it got rejected by Apple for being too stupid. My friends and I were at a retreat together and we literally stayed up all night making up these ridiculous questions and categories. We had a section for pirates, ninjas, criminals and zombies. By the end of the retreat we had almost 400 questions and were very excited to see the app released and find out if anyone else would enjoy our bizarre sense of humour.

When apple rejected the app I lost interest and decided to keep working on my regular apps but since that time the popularity of zombies has grown. As I speak to more and more teenagers I realize that some of them are absolutely obsessed with zombies, watching zombie tv shows, zombie movies even reading zombie comics and novels. So I decided to dig up that old program from 2012 and see if I can’t throw some of those questions into my most popular paid app, Ask Me Anything for Teens.

Here’s the thing… I didn’t tell apple about this category, because its a secret. If apple finds out they will program reject my binary and I will have to remove this category from my app so… don’t tell apple, please. Ask Me Anything for Zombies is embedded in your copy of Ask Me Anything for Teens 2.0, here’s how to get to it.

First you will need to find the menu button at the bottom right of the opening screen.

Zombie Tutorial.001

This button is on every one of my apps. It gets you from the main screen to the categories screen. Surprisingly many users have never used this button and find great joy when they suddenly discover it.

After you press this button you will be taken to the first menu screen. On this screen you can choose categories, the about menu or instructions. Choose the categories button. The screen you should be on looks like this. The tricky part is that I have made the button for Ask Me AnyZombie Tutorial.002thing for Zombies extremely small. If you tap anywhere on the top right hand of the screen you should be able to find the invisible button that will take you to Ask Me Anything for Zombies.

It looks like this. Zombie Tutorial.003

In it you will find some great questions that you might want to ask a zombie if you ever meet one. Hopefully, this new category will just make you laugh. It was designed for your amusement. If you laugh then I am happy.

Have a great day.

It’s only been 15 days and we are already at 400 likes so I might as well give away some more apps. For the next 5 days I will be giving away one of my conversation starter apps per day. No idea which one might be FREE on which day but if you check the app store everyday you will find out. I do this because I want my apps in the hands of users. I want my conversation starters on iPhones, iPads and iPods all over the world. If you get the app for FREE and you like it please leave me a 5 star review on the app store.

If you have any suggestions on ways that I can improve the apps or perhaps some more app ideas you can message me or throw it into the comments. I am always happy to hear from you.

Have a great day and enjoy the free downloads.

Restoring the Lost Art of Conversation…

lost art.001

Restoring the lost art of conversation… one app at a time.

Ask Me Anything apps were built upon the foundational truth that communication brings strength to any relationship. No matter where you live, what your relationships look like, or how connected you truly are to the people in your life, all of us need better communication.

If you are in sales, marketing, business, or retail you need to know how to communicate. If you are in education, social work, athletics, or Human Relations you need to know how to communicate. If you are in IT, call centres, customer service or trades you need to know how to communicate. No matter where you work, you need to know how to communicate to be successful.

Conversation is a lost art, we have lost the ability to look one another in the eyes. The ability to listen and to hear. The ability to share our words with one another. We are more comfortable with who ever is in the world than who is in the room next to us.

Ask Me Anything Apps were created to help humans interact with other humans. It’s that simple.

For your relationships I have created 3 separate apps. Ask Me Anything for Couples, Engaged Couples and Families. Each one unique in how they are designed and the focus that they have.

3 Relationships.001

For your general conversations I have also created 2 apps that bring people together through the powerful medium of conversation starters. Ask Me Anything for Teens and Ask Me Anything for Adults.

General Conversation Apps.001

Download these apps today and start communicating for a change.

My hope is that your relationships will be strengthened as you begin to relearn the lost art of conversation… one app at a time.

Hello India

Hello India.001

Hello India! Over the past 4 days you guys over in India have lit up the app downloads, my Facebook page and my web traffic has surged. I wanted to acknowledge it and thank you. I’m not sure necessarily sure why you have just noticed my apps or what started the fire but I’m grateful that you guys are using my apps.

When I built my apps I designed them to get people talking… I was hopeful that my apps might have an impact on people in my own country and I was thinking it would be amazing if the world would benefit. I had no idea the reach that the app store has given me. What I have found is that every day people from many countries download and use my apps. That is simply more than I could have expected and I am grateful to all of my users for their support.

India, if you guys start the fire and it spreads to the whole world I will be forever in your debt. Thanks for the downloads and have a great day.
